Any data that we collect via the Control application is governed by this policy.
Control saves and uses two kinds of private data: 1) Location data and 2) Health data in HealthKit.
In order to track a route, Control needs to read and save location of user’s device. Location data is only saved during workout. Location data is displayed also when device is showing strength of GPS signal to the user but this information is not saved on device.
Control cannot read device’s location data unless you specifically grant access.
In order to analyse and present information to you, Control relies on the ability to read your health data for heart rate, active energy & workouts from the Apple HealthKit database on your iPhone and Apple Watch.
In addition, Control may also write data to the Apple HealthKit database for workouts completed with the Control app.
Control cannot read or write data from nor to the Apple HealthKit database unless you specifically grant access.
Data read from the Apple HealthKit database is used to track your heart rate during the workout in order to display that data in the Control iPhone and Watch applications.
Workouts are stored locally on your iPhone in order to more easily & quickly present this information to you. If you choose to do so, data is also uploaded to your personal iCloud storage. Even when the iCloud syncing is on, no one, either developer or Apple can access your uploaded data in the iCloud.
Control is in no way responsible for the protection of data and information stored within the Apple's iCloud database. It is strongly recommended that you review Apple’s applicable policies and procedures before enabling iCloud syncing.
The protection of any data stored on your iPhone and Apple Watch within the Control app is your sole responsibility. Please consult your device documentation on how to manage local storage and how to apply appropriate security controls to your device for the protection of information.
